Perfection in Preparation

Perfection in Preparation
Manoj Kumar K

1 Kings 6:7- In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.

While building the temple, all the stones were dressed off site and brought to the temple. There was no sound of a hammer or iron tools at the temple site. The stones were ready when they arrived on site.

Imagine the amount of skill, discipline, commitment that have gone into this activity. The decision might have been made by Solomon and the workmen obliged. There is no second thought or leniency in that work. They didn't have the machines or technology of this age. Their preparation to handle such a huge and complex project shows their determination. There were no last minute adjustments. Because of the work done at the quarry, they could focus completely on the temple design. Preparation at its best!

We have our own projects to handle in our lives- studies, jobs, business etc. And sometimes we scramble in the last minute- we forget something to take along with us, we reach the place at the last minute in a hurry etc. If we can adopt their preparation strategy with determination, we too can handle our projects with ease.

Writing an exam- Be prepared
Giving an interview- Be prepared
Attending a meeting- Be prepared
Going to job- Be prepared

And the most important of all! Our salvation.

Our life on earth is a one time opportunity. There is no second life. Let's be perfect in preparing to enter the kingdom of Heaven. We are prone to mistakes and failures but with the help of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit everything is possible.

Jesus came from heaven to earth with such preparation. He went through suffering, pain and didn't give up at all. He didn't ask Father for a second chance. In prayer He prepared Himself to finish it. And He was victorious.

Let's prepare ourselves in Prayer to win the battles!

Let's prepare ourselves with the Word of God to walk in the right path!

May God help us all! Amen!
