Meditation: 1 Kings 7:13-14

King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram.......he was extremely skillful in all kinds of bronze work.

Proverbs 22:29

Do you see someone skilled in their work?

They will serve before kings.

A man skillful in his work will serve before kings.

Huram was skillful and he was called by the King Solomon.David was skillful in playing the harp, and he was called to serve the king Saul. Daniel was skillful in administration, he served in the courts of King of Babylon. Joseph was skillful and he was called from prison to serve Pharoah, King of Egypt. We see a lot of people in the Bible who served before kings. They were very skillful. Wherever they may be staying, they were called all the way to the palace of the kings to serve them.

This has to be our principle in leading our secular lives. We have to learn, practice and improve our skills in a way that our name should be the first in the list to be called upon for an important work. We need to put all our efforts in order to improve our skills. We should not satisfy with mediocrity. It's in our hands to reach the heights. Be skilled! Kings are waiting for you!!!

But, there is a God- Lord of Lords and King of Kings. What are the skills required to serve Him??

He does not look for our skills in education, speech, music, administration, leadership etc. He is not bothered about our present status of wealth, education etc.There are mainly two important things He wants in us.

OBEDIENCE & FAITH

Obedience, to listen and follow God's word to lead a Holy life. Faith, to take steps in the path God wants us to go.

We see the great men of God in the Bible. They are always obedient and faithful. They are not perfect in everything. They too made mistakes and had their share of doubts. But, they have learnt to correct themselves and ask for the strength of God to take the leap of faith. God didn't see their worldly skills, as they are secondary. These men of God were Obedient and faithful in the first place and God trained them to be skillful in every other aspect.

Let us also strive to be Obedient and Faithful to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May He use each and everyone of us in His service.
