A Skillful Servant

Image
A Skillful Servant Manoj Kumar K Meditation: 1 Kings 7:13-14 King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram.......he was extremely skillful in all kinds of bronze work. Proverbs 22:29 Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings. A man skillful in his work will serve before kings. Huram was skillful and he was called by the King Solomon.David was skillful in playing the harp, and he was called to serve the king Saul. Daniel was skillful in administration, he served in the courts of King of Babylon. Joseph was skillful and he was called from prison to serve Pharoah, King of Egypt. We see a lot of people in the Bible who served before kings. They were very skillful. Wherever they may be staying, they were called all the way to the palace of the kings to serve them. This has to be our principle in leading our secular lives. We have to learn, practice and improve our skills in a way that our name should be the first in the list to be called upon ...

The Lord is my shepherd!

Image
"The Lord is my shepherd" Manoj Kumar K Psalm 23(Psalm of David)- Verse 1: "The Lord is my shepherd". This is a claim made by David. India is my country- An Indian can say that Donald Trump is my president- An American can say that The Lord is my shepherd- That's what David sang...Can we say that too?? There are bounds for everyone to make the above statements. People need citizenship to talk with pride about their country. We don't sing national anthems of other countries. An American cannot say India is my country. In the same manner, we cannot take the song of David and claim it to be ours. In the true sense, the Lord is David's shepherd, not ours. That is David's anthem, not ours. Don't worry! There is a way to own that song for ourselves. If we can be like David, we can sing that song too. How can we do that? In John 10:27, Jesus says" My sheep listen to my voice, I know them and they follow me" We can see thi...

Obedience

Obedience  Shweta Saanvi Meditation: John 6:6-13 In the Journey of Jesus on this earth. Right from the time He started His ministry, there were many miracles, healings happening... Jesus is demonstrating the Love and power of Father towards mankind. Here in this contest, this is an amazing miracle where Jesus Christ feeds 5000 people with just 5 Loaves and 2 Fish. Not just sufficient but abundant, they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which are left over by those who had eaten. See how marvelous are the handwork's of our Lord. Today if you really lack something in life, rush to Him. Just give the best you had to His hand and rest will be taken care. When we meditate this contest we can see the obedience of lil lad who agreed to give his only bread and fish with no reasoning or calculation or thinking that what would i eat or "what if". He simply obeyed and the result is 5000 peoples hunger was satisfi...

Shame, Guilt, Condemnation belongs to Satan...

Shame, Guilt, Condemnation belongs to Satan...  Shweta Saanvi Meditation: John 9:3 Here in this context, we find a Blindman by birth. Usually when we find such people like the blind or crippled or deceased first thing that come across our thoughts is "ohhh poor one" we feel pity. We simply jump into conclusion of thinking something was wrong. Sometimes one's weaknesses are to reveal the works of God. We feel pity on blind and lame because we can see their physical weakness with our eyes. But in the spiritual sense, everyone has weaknesses which others can't see. As human beings, we all carry one or the other weakness. Sometimes we make mistakes, we mess up the things, we just keep wandering. We might fall and fail, we might be that lost son. Let us not jump into a conclusion for someone, let us not quicken ourselves to judge someone, let us not feel shameful for ourselves, lets us not condemn ourselves because, when Jesus comes into our life everything...

The Wise Listener

Image
The Wise Listener Manoj Kumar K 1 Kings 3:16(NLT) - Some time later two prostitutes came to the king to have an argument settled. Read it again! God has blessed Solomon with wisdom( 3: 1-14). There is no one wiser than him. He is Solomon- the author of many proverbs and psalms, the researcher of plants and animals, administrator  and King of Israel. He should be busy using his wisdom in administration, financial matters, foreign relations, army, research etc. But he takes time to settle a dispute between two prostitutes- who are considered outcasts, who are ill-treated and considered low in the society. Solomon could have told his officials not to bring these petty issues in his court. He could have ordered them to settle this somehow. But he didn't. He used his wisdom to solve the matter. And the mother got her child back. She will be the happiest. People might have passed comments on Solomon. Why the king is wasting time on these matters when there are many promin...

Perfection in Preparation

Image
Perfection in Preparation Manoj Kumar K   1 Kings 6:7- In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built. While building the temple, all the stones were dressed off site and brought to the temple. There was no sound of a hammer or iron tools at the temple site. The stones were ready when they arrived on site. Imagine the amount of skill, discipline, commitment that have gone into this activity. The decision might have been made by Solomon and the workmen obliged. There is no second thought or leniency in that work. They didn't have the machines or technology of this age. Their preparation to handle such a huge and complex project shows their determination. There were no last minute adjustments. Because of the work done at the quarry, they could focus completely on the temple design. Preparation at its best! We have our own projects to handle in our live...

Spiritual Revolution... Forgiveness of Christ... Manoj Kumar K                                                       Genesis 4:19-22 A man named Lamech had 3 Sons. Jabal: Father of those who dwells in tents Jubal: Father of musical instruments like lyre and pipe Tubal-Cain: Father of metal tools made of bronze and iron His sons are the first to bring these into the world. A family blessed with scientists and inventors. The family has got everything now. One son might have made good tents for his family for them to sleep well. One of them would have played pleasant music in the evening while everyone sang together. The younger one might have made tools and furniture to ease their daily work. A mini-technological revolution!!! But wait! Read the next 2 verses. Their father enjoying the comfort of life like no one else before hi...

How to Pray - Hannah's Prayer

Image
How to Pray - Hannah's Prayer Manoj Kumar K Hannah was childless for many years. She has been going to the temple year after year along with her husband. She prayed many times during those years. But only one prayer is recorded by the Holy Spirit. What is so special in that prayer? Background story: Eli is the priest in that temple at Shiloh. He was obedient to the Lord. But now he has grown old and couldn't perform his duties effectively. So he appointed his two sons as priests to share his duties. But the Bible says they were scoundrels and didn't follow the ways of the Lord. They are taking the offerings of the people to satisfy their desires.Eli didn't try to confront them. This is causing inconvenience to the people who are coming to the temple to worship the Lord in Holiness. Prayer: Hannah has prayed every year in the temple. She has observed that the situation in the temple is worsening with each passing year- Eli cannot walk much and his sons are gro...
